Decaffeinated – Honduras – Swiss Water Process:
Steepfuze USDA certified organic Honduran Decaf is anything but your run-of-the-mill decaffeinated coffee. We begin with Bourbon, Lempira, and Catuai varietals of Arabica coffee from the Cafe Organico Marcala which are decaffeinated using the totally solvent-free Swiss Water decaffeination method. The beans are carefully blended and roasted to a medium dark level to maintain the deep flavor characteristics of traditional medium roast coffees with a pleasant nuttiness and a long, smooth finish. Strong aromas pervade with notes of smoke and brown sugar. The flavors of semi-sweet chocolate, almond, and caramel dominate the cup with hints of honey underlying. With much more structure and complexity than most decafs, this coffee is sure not to disappoint!
How do they infuse? High quality coffee beans have about 15% fat, and cannabinoids such as CBD bind to fat. During the roast, these naturally occurring oils in the coffee beans become more active and exposed, and we directly infuse them once the beans have cooled and are degassing during the curing process. Ther coffees are infused at a 1:1 ratio of milligrams of CBD to grams of coffee for easy measuring.
